To strengthen St. Petersburg’s legacy of inclusion and diversity, providing a safe space for the education, self-exploration, and celebration of our LGBTQIA+ group and allies. By championing equity and representation, we aim to create an open and compassionate collective where people are empowered to thrive. No matter who they are.
For more than 20 years, we’ve marched in rainbow-clad celebration of the spectrum of love and life. What started as a promenade became a parade and then a full Celebration Month. And we now host year-round events to amplify, support, and mark the diverse voices of the LGBTQIA+ community – including the Black, Brown, and Trans voices that too often go unheard.
The history of St. Pete’s LGBTQ

You don't have to view hard to see that the Tampa Bay area has much to present the gay traveler. From the beautiful sunrises and romantic sunsets to the tropical weather with the occasional awe-inspiring electrical storm to the ever-changing nightlife, there is always something new to discover.
The Tampa Bay area is made up of two cities on opposite sides of the bay. On one side is Tampa, which has a extended and interesting heritage. And across the bay is its sister city of St Petersburg. Not far away are Clearwater and other cities with lgbtq+ communities, along the coast.
Once a bit down at heel, St Petersburg has enjoyed a genuine renaissance in the past few years. It's now home to many theaters, art galleries, and museums. Here you'll find the incredible Salvador Dali Museum, now in it's logo new building, housing the largest collection of works by the artist outside of his native Spain. The area also proposals several gay-friendly bed & breakfasts and a just-opened gay hotel.

A Look at Saint Petersburg’s History
Saint Petersburg was initially founded as a resort town, named after Saint Petersburg Russia, where one of its founders spent much of his youth. Although it began as a resort destination, it quickly also became an important port town with a thriving shipping and fishing industry. Today, it remains a tourist destination for many, but it is also residence to thousands of year-round residents who enjoy all of the art, customs, opportunity, and fun that the city has to offer. Truly, St. Pete would make a ideal place to call home!

It’s hard to pinpoint the best part of St. Pete, it&#;s close to the beach, it has an legendary downtown, tons of local LGBTQ bars, clubs, and boutiques. We decided to stay for a month in the Historic Uptown area of St. Pete. We were a 5-minute walk from several local coffee shops, restaurants, and parks. We were also close to the freeway if we wanted to hop over the bridge and experience Tampa or Ybor city which is also an LGBTQ hotspot.
