The guys that stroll around butt ass naked. Is it so complicated to wrap a towel around? The other date I finish my splash take my shower, deposit on some shorts and make my way to the sinks to seize some lotion for my face. The chlorine really drys my face out. Anyways, there’s this dude, probably 55, in there stark naked primping his hair n shit. This is kind of a narrow room like a horseshoe of sinks. The guy is on my left as I go by in. First sink lotion didn’t work so I had to go deeper in to the next sink. Just as I grab a little lotion and apply to my face. Another dude comes in. I feel trapped now, got a naked dude on the left and another dude on the right. Shit, I’m gonna have to transfer through corridor and it’s way too close to the naked dude! Just as I start to make a break for it the naked dude puts his foot up on the counter and starts slathering lotion on his legs. I utter “seriously?” as I go by by. He didn’t express anything back but, with my back turned to him I was a little concerned about entity attacked buy a naked dude as I walked away. I’ll be bringing my own lotion from now on.

IN THE EARLY 1980s, I began to patronize a gym at the University of Toronto. The locker room proved interesting. The adolescent men seemed proud of their bodies, and normally walked totally naked to and from the showers, a towel slung casually over the shoulder. It was clearly a badge of healthy masculinity to feel comfortable in one’s birthday suit.
If I think of correctly, it was in the late 1990s when first I noticed a significant change in locker-room behavior. To put it succinctly: young, presumably heterosexual men stopped showering together, and have never gone back. Today, if they do shower, they construct sure to walk from their locker to the showers with a towel wrapped securely around their middle. Then they construct use of the secret shower stalls—a fairly recent amenity, apparently installed for reasons of modesty. At my gym, there is still a communal shower option, but I notice guys patiently waiting for an unoccupied private stall, even though there are plenty of communal showerheads available. But more usual nowadays are locker rooms with separate shower stalls with curtains or doors as the only option, with no communal s
The Freddie Guide to: Bathhouses
What is a bathhouse?
Bathhouses – also known as baths, saunas, or gay saunas – are spaces where queer men* meet to socialise, relax and possess sex. They are legal, licensed sex venues, as opposed to regular saunas or steam rooms where people cruise.
The number of gay bathhouses in North America peaked in the 1970s. Most of them closed in the 1980s, as local governments made public health rules to curb the HIV/AIDS epidemic. These rules were often rooted in homophobia.
Today, there are still bathhouses in most major cities across the world. You can find them through Google or on cruising sites like Squirt and Sniffies.
* Historically, bathhouses only admitted cisgender men. They are generally becoming more inclusive. Many have more relaxed door policies or consecrated times and events that are safer spaces for trans and non-binary people. If this applies to you, it’s best to check online or sound ahead before visiting a venue for the first time.
When you arrive
When you arrive at a bathhouse, you’ll get to a front desk with an attendant. This is where you’ll pay for your entry along with any extras like private rooms (if the venue
Straight men - execute you mind the thought of gay men existence in the shower with you?

Inspired by a thread in GD, I wanted to ask this. In communal showers/locker rooms does the idea of gay men being in there and seeing you naked bother you at all? If so how much on a scale of 1 to 10? Bear in mind that if you’re in a locker room with 15 other guys then statistically one of them is gay.

Nope, not at all. I can’t say I haven’t ever thought about it, but nope.
I don’t find communal showers a very arousing place most of the time.

I don’t communal showers, but when I’m in one, I’m assuming everyone is doing what I’m doing - cleaning up and getting the hell out. I don’t spend a lot of time looking around at other dudes, so unless someone is tedious a hole through my genitalia with their eyes, I wouldn’t even observe someone looking in my direction.
One thing that bothers me about straight homophobic people is the assumption that gay people discover them attractive. Isn’t that presumptuous? As a unbent person, I don’t uncover every woman attractive, and I’m bothered when a woman assumes that just because they hav
