I think you're doing a great job all around.
It's been decades since I read Farmer's stories on Wold Newton, so I've enjoyed that part, too. Having a meteor hold an effect on people makes me think of Smallville, and I wonder if that's where they got the idea of kryptonite having an outcome on non-Kryptonians. That entity said, perhaps a certain alien arrived much earlier that is customarily reflection, with his adopted parents passing through and conclusion him. They left for the wilds of America to stay hidden. Just a thought.

I mostly threw in Wold Newton as a reason for why Erskine was successful when so many others failed, and to establish a link with some of the other characters. But you've raised an interesting idea, one which in turn raises some questions. Do Kryptonians take over a century to reach adulthood, and if so how did the Kents manage to stay alive so prolonged ? Alternatively, was Suoerman secretly active in the s, and if so what was he doing all that time ? This could be the basis of an entire series.
